I had the opportunity to transit through the Summit Air terminal at Auckland (AKL) not too recently, and I must admit it was quite a nice and easy experience. Though small, the Summit Air AKL Terminal is well designed and easy to navigate without the typical airport unrest. Check-in was fast, and the staff were actually friendly and supportive, thereby enhancing a nice personal touch sometimes lacking with larger airlines. With plenty of seats and a nice view of the runway—ideal for some leisurely plane-spotting before the flight—the waiting area was neat and pleasant. Although the facilities are somewhat rudimentary, they cover all the basics and everything seemed to be well kept. Boarding was structured and on time; generally the entire procedure seemed to be stress-free. Summit Air evidently emphasizes a simplified, customer-first strategy, which I much valued. This terminal is excellent if you are connecting or flying locally. For those seeking a basic, no-fuss airport experience with friendly service to match, I would most definitely recommend Summit Air at AKL.
